Overview
My role at MICRRH is to provide administrative assistance, for the research team, in project and conference arrangements, and to manage resource publications and research data related to the projects and/or research of the team or its members.

Career Profile
I was born & raised on Tasmania's North West Coast, in a rural environment. On graduating as an early childhood educator, I was appointed to a school in a remote mining town on Tasmania's rugged West Coast, where I met Simon. Marriage did not bring a settled life, but one of frequent moves, with each of our 4 children being born in a different place - the youngest in the south of France, where we lived in a remote area for ten years.

After years of homemaking, I undertook the development & management of a library for a private tertiary educational institution in Hobart, where we had finally settled. During this time, I studied to gain the Diploma of Library & Information Sciences, at TAFE.

Then, in January 2007, we left our home in rural Huon Valley, to live in Mount Isa (a different remote experience) where Simon had accepted a full-time work offer.

I began working 1 day a week in the YACCA library, in late April 2007; then, at the end of May, I was offered 3 days work in MICRRH's Tarabada House with the research team. This year I am in the bustling main office block.

I am really enjoying working in this very different context which offers new insights, challenges & opportunities for learning and development.
