1,600km west of Brisbane.

General Information
Bedourie, started life in the 1880's as a major watering stop for drovers and their cattle and also for the Cob and Co Coaches.

Climate
Enjoy spectacular wildflower displays after rain. Visit in the cooler Winter months, April to September for a comfortable 8 to 22 degrees Celsius. Summers are very hot averaging higher than 38 degrees Celsius.

Points of interest
Bedourie, situated on a sand dune over looking the Eyre Creek flood plains is today, the administrative centre of the diamantina shire (after the council chambers were moved from birdsville in 1953).Best known for it's annual camel races (held the 2nd weekend in July).
