2,720km north of Brisbane at the top of the Cape York Peninsula.

General Information
Located 40km from the vary northern tip of the Cape, Bamaga is the northernmost township in Australia. Bamaga is the administrative centre of the Northern Peninsula Area ( NPA ) of Cape York. There are five communities in close proximity to each other namely Bamaga and Seisia which are Torres Islander communities and Injinoo, Umagico and New Mapoon which are Aboriginal.

Climate
Bamaga, as a costal town has a plesant tropical climate with lots of rain, the recordings for 2006 were maximum temperature 33 degrees Celsius lowest temperature 17 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall of 2046.4mm (in 108 days of rain over the year).

Points of interest
The adventure of a 4WD trip to Bamaga through very rugged terrain is the main catalyst for tourist activity by road. There are many sights, towns and other points of interest during the journey. Tourist activities whilst at Bamaga include Sight-seeing tours to Thursday Island, Guided fishing and pig hunting tours; visiting World War II aircraft wrecks in the Bamaga area.
