MICRRH Welcomes A New Bundle Of (Educational) Joy!

Welcoming SimBaby...
On the 12th July 2007 The Mount Isa Centre For Rural And Remote Health officially welcomed the youngest member of the SimMan Project family.
A special 'baby shower' was held at the centre to announce the naming of the Xstrata SimBaby, and to launch the new paediatric scenarios this equipment will facilitate as part of the Mount Isa SimMan Project.
The SimBaby, donated in full by Xstrata Mount Isa Mines, has been given two names (one male and one female, even though there is only one mannequin) as the paediatric scenarios make use of both male and female subjects. Cooper (for copper) and Zoe (for zinc) will join the original SimMan mannequin (Barry, named in honour of Barry Grant from Xstrata Mount Isa Mines) already in use at the centre.
The launch was extremely successful, with local media on hand as well as centre staff and representatives of Xstrata Mount Isa Mines... including Mr Steve de Kruijff, Chief Operating Officer for North Queensland Copper.
